The MDX is the largest SUV in the Acura fleet, providing three rows of seating and the kind of performance that Acura is known for. You can select an MDX with the standard 290-horsepower V6 engine, or go with the more potent twin-turbo V6. Engines and performance options

The entry-level Acura MDX runs with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that can develop 290 horsepower, and it's teamed up with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the standard offering, and Acura's proprietary Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is an available option. If you move up to the Type S trim, you'll be in command of a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that generates 355 horsepower and operates with all-wheel drive. The time from zero to 60 mph in the top-level Type S is just 5.5 seconds, and the MDX can tow up to 5,000 pounds when equipped with all-wheel drive.

 

Interior highlights

For 2026, the Acura MDX has a premium fuel, especially if you invest in a higher trim like A-Spec Advance or Type S. The MDX is a luxury SUV with three rows and seating for a family of seven. Available interior options include open-pore wood, stitched leather on the dashboard, and piano-black accents. Other attractive amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and heated front seats. In addition, you can get premium features like sixteen-way power-adjustable front seats and even a massage function.

Technology

Standard technology in the new Acura MDX includes a 12.3-inch touch screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Amazon Alexa, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto, natural voice recognition, and an audio system with 11 speakers. Other standard features include wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and 12-volt power outlets. Available tech upgrades include a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system with an amazing 31 speakers. Also available: remote start, 27-color LED ambient interior lighting, and GPS-linked climate control.

Safety features

Standard safety features in the new Acura MDX include automatic high beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, a forward collision warning system, forward automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Available safety features include front cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a head-up display, and an evasive steering assist system that can help steer the MDX to avoid collisions. Trim Levels

The Base MDX comes with a panoramic moonroof, a power liftgate, twelve-way power-adjustable seats with power lumbar support, and wireless smartphone connectivity. In the A-Spec trim, you'll be getting a power liftgate with hands-free access, power folding side mirrors, sport seats with Milano premium leather, and a leather-wrapped flat-bottom sports steering wheel. The Technology trim includes leather upholstery and a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system with 19 speakers.

 

The Advance trim provides sixteen-way ventilated power-adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. The Type S is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 355 horsepower, Brembo brakes, 21-inch wheels, an incredible 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, 16-way power-adjustable front seats with power lumbar support, and an air suspension system.
